Tis the Season

IT’S CONSIGNMENT SALE SEASON!!!  As you can tell, I’m excited!  There is nothing like having your shopping bag, rooting through the sizes of clothes and finding some incredible bargains for the upcoming season for the kids.  

I have always been a bargain shopper, love yard sales and craigslist.  However, when it came to my first born son, I was committed to only buying new; new equipment, new clothes, new furniture, new… new… new.  Then I made the decision when he was 3 months old to stay at home full-time; so there goes our two income household…man that new stuff sure is expensive!

My dear friend took me to my first kids’ consignment sale that very spring.  I bought his entire wardrobe for the spring/summer and even some for the fall for ¼ of the price I would have spent at stores…this is a great thing!

Well, along came my second and third child and I have not missed a consignment sale since.  Now I am not only saving money by shopping at these great sales, but I am consigning, so I am making money too.  Every little bit helps in these tough times, that’s for sure!  They are typically held twice yearly once in the early spring and once in the fall.  There are many directories out there online you can search to see where these wonderful sales are being held near where you live.  A great resource is Consignment Mommy http://consignmentmommies.com/
